Cottage Wall Birthday

The last time I posted I was SO excited about the stagette the next evening, but it turned out that I woke up the next morning and was very sick.  We ended up postponing the stagette until an unknown date as there weren't enough people that had responded and I REALLY didn't want to miss it!  Now I just hope that she doesn't see the card before I have a chance to get it to her.  Probably wouldn't be a problem, but I was really hoping to start posting my bloggings onto facebook and I know she checks it.

Onto today's card.  I decided to stick with the clean&simple today.  I went back a post to find the FTL91 challenge and noticed that I still had a few days to post to it, so decided why not?

It is Orchid Opulence, Old Olive and Cottage Wall DSP.  The stamps used were SU Vintage Vogue and Amy R's Birthday Sentiments.  The gem and ribbon are from dollarama.

Not sure what I think of this one yet.  I wanted to follow the sketch, but not sure if I like the sentiment on the DSP or not.  I think next time I would probably punch out stamped cardstock instead.  What do you think?

Forever

 Hello Again!
Two days in a row better not be a record for me.  I was actually thinking last night as I was typing the last post that I should start doing challenges and posting them for motivation to keep the blog going.  Then, just like that, I was taking a look at one of my fav blogs Paper Please Ideas, Julie is AMAZING!  Not only do I follow her blog in an almost stalker like way, but I am in one of her Stampin' Up Splurges (or at least I am until June 2nd, as that is our last class of the year).  Julie was talking about starting with something simple to get her mojo back and went to the clean&simple blog for inspiration.  Well not only did she inspire herself, but she inspired me!
I have a stagette tomorrow for a friend and to go along with the sexy bridal lingerie (a must for this party) that I got her I wanted to whip up a nice card, but wasn't sure what to do.  When I saw the FTL92 challenge I couldn't resist!
This is what I came up with...
It is the SU set blissful bride along with a long retired set wonderful words II.  The used sweat pea DSP with chocolate chip and taken with teal with teal as those are her wedding colors.
I think it turned out pretty well, now I don't have to worry about making a card tomorrow, just finishing the cake and getting some appies ready.

Welcome!

Hi All!

Well, I am going to try this again...this time it will be about me, my designs and anything else I feel like putting into the world.  I have decided to make Greetings by dawn into a website (greetingsbydawn.com) instead of a blog as it will be easier for upkeep that way and I can have this blog to showcase all of my work, not just wedding stationary.
Let's get off to a good start - this is a card that I made and LOVE!!
It is SU Bold Butterflies that I bought used a few months ago.  I like the way this set looks and how versatile it is.  The sentiment is from the $1.50 bin at a local store.
Have a good night - I am off to watch husband play volleyball tonight.  Might be a cold one, but it is so nice to get out and see our friends once a week.
