Time to play

I actually had a bit of free time this past weekend, so after I got done making the cards that I needed to make I decided to participate in a couple of challenges.  For the first time I decided to mix it up a bit and use a colour challenge and a sketch challenge.
The sketch is clean&simple, of course, FTL99 and the color challenge #32 is from Makeesha Byl's Inkspiration. It is a very soft color combo.  Not something that I am used to.

I'm not sure what I think of this card.  I think if I had to do it again, I would probably emboss the So Saffron part to give it a bit more detail.

I used the Hostess set Apple Blossom, which you can earn by hosting a workshop with me.  If you are interested, please contact me.

Jump for Joy!

Today's card is the one that I posted about last Thursday.  I had meant to post it earlier than this, but life is just busy all around!  The workshop that I demoed at on Saturday was great.  Got to see some old friends, meet some new friends and I think I probably could have even adopted a grandma or two!  It was such a fun afternoon, even though it was POURING rain and hailing!!  It was so bad at times that I thought I wouldn't be able to come home that night.  Luckily my grandma had a nice hot bowl of homemade soup for me before I had to drive home.
Enough babbling from me, onto the card. This card was made for a lovely couple that recently found out that their adoption court date has gone through and they are officially parents!
The baby's room is going to be decorated with giraffes so I had to use the giraffe from Fox & Friends (in wood or clear mount).  The paper was a Sale-A-Bration freebie!  I used that paper as the new mommy has a shirt that is very close to that pattern.  The colours are a bit different, but I figured that it was close enough to make it special.
I had some time yesterday that I got to spend in my craft room, so I should have a few posts this week.  As long as I can find the time to get them posted, as some days that seems to take almost as long as actually making the cards.

Father's card and Workshop

Sorry I haven't posted for a while.  I held (and hosted) my first workshop on Monday evening and it took a while to get organized for that and I have been busy since then trying to get ready to go camping this weekend.  We have 7 campsite booked for us and friends and I can't wait to get away, if even just for the weekend.
The workshop went really well!  The ladies that were there were so much fun!  We looked through the catty, made a card and had some laughs.  I got the order sent away and can't wait for it to come back so that I can deliver it and let them see how great SU products are!  I also booked another workshop through this one, so I will have to come up with a great demo that I can take on the road as it will be in my home town about an hour and a half from where I live.
Speaking of this, because my dad lives that far away I hadn't had a chance to give him his father's day card until he brought his lovely girlfriend to the workshop and I didn't want to post it as I know that he follows the blog.  Now that he has it...here it is!
For this card I used, Trendy Trees and the  Dot, Dot, Dot stamp sets that are both in the new catty.  They paper is the new Crumb Cake (was Kraft).  I like the way this card turned out, and so did the dads!

New 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue and a Little Diva

Happy Canada Day!!! I worked today at the office, but that means that I actually have all day tomorrow off!  I have to work this weekend, but just from 2-5 on Saturday and Sunday.
Before we talk about the new catalogue, I want to show you a card I made with a pre-view set.  When I saw a slightly different version of this card, this was the first thing that came to mind.  I love the Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Very Vanilla combo together.
This card uses the Artistic Etchings (in wood or clear mount), Newsprint DSP, and the Scallop Trim Border punch.
Here is a close up of the Dazzling Diamonds glitter for a little extra bling that makes this card look very Diva!!

Now, onto the new idea book and catalogue!
I have had mine for a little while now and have been able to look through it, but now I can show you all the great stuff and YOU can check everything out on My Stampin' Up Website!  You can not only download a PDF of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue, but you can also download the Stampin' Supplies that let you know how everything was made and the new Definitely Decorative catalogue for some great vinyl wall art as well!

You can place an order online, or come check things out in person at the workshop at my place on Monday, July 5th at 7 p.m.  Check out this post for more details.
